Education

The Celebration of Education Tent, kindly sponsored by Primrose Pools, has over 30 schools and pre-schools who all put on an amazing display of artwork to celebrate education within our community – we very much appreciate the time and effort involved.

The theme for this year’s Show is “Grow it- Cook it – Eat it” and exhibits can be based around this theme or can be something you have been working on during the school year. Each school is allocated a 3.6m wide by 1.8m deep “booth” with 2 trestle tables and with over 20,000 visitors to the Show, this is a brilliant opportunity to showcase your school.

Celebration of Education
If your school or you know of a school who would like to be involved in the Celebration of Education Tent click here for an application form.  The closing date for applications is Thursday 28 March 2024.

Outdoor Zone
With many schools now affiliated to Forest Schools, this year we very much hope to have an Outdoor Zone beside the Education Tent in a wooded area with activities and nature trails.

Performance Area
There will be a 6m x 6m area outside the front of the tent, with a speaker and microphone, which is ideal for individuals or small or larger ensembles to show off their musical or performing arts talents. This could be performing favourite songs from a school production, a solo musician, choir, school band or orchestra or singers and dancers.

Competitions
We will be running 3 competitions for classes or groups to enter which this year are a Grub in a Tub, a Scarecrow and a String of Bunting – click here for information.  The closing date for competition entries applications is Friday 21 June 2024.

All school and organisations exhibiting and/or performing will receive free pupil tickets plus up to 3 exhibitor wristbands for teachers/helpers.

Front Cover Competition
Every year we hold a competition in schools for pupils to design a front cover for our Show Programme which goes out to over 3,000 show goers. The top 30 designs are also displayed in the Celebration of Education Tent. The winning school receives £150 and there are also book tokens and free tickets to individual winners and runners up and a free ticket to every child that enters.  Please contact your school for information.
