Tendring Show

Essex County's Premier Agricultural Event

We previously announced that we were unable to continue to run a number of the horse competitions at the Tendring Show. This was not a decision we took lightly and there was an understandable amount of disappointment from the local community.

We are therefore delighted to announce that after ongoing discussions with local riding clubs, a local group has come forward to run a dedicated horse show. The Lawford Park Horse Show will be held at the Tendring Show on Saturday 13 July and will take place in the same field as it has on previous years.

All the usual showing classes will run and a full schedule together with entry forms will be emailed to exhibitors from the past two years. Although the event will be organised by a different organising group, exhibitor passes to the Show based on entries, will be provided as they have in the past.

The Lawford Park Horse Show team will need as many entries as possible in order to make the new competition a success. Please do show them your support. You can find more information at: https://www.facebook.com/LPHS19

Trade stand Packs and Members Packs have now all been sent out and should have arrived – we are delighted to have a bumper year of trade stands, with lots of new and interesting exhibitors – not long to go now!

Don’t forget to get your entries in for the Equestrian and Livestock Classes – Entries Close on the 22nd June for General Entries and 29th June for Unaffiliated Show Jumping.

Delighted to confirm that our Showground is now full and tradestand applications have closed!   New Exhibitors should contact us if they would like to go on our waiting list for space, in the event of any cancellations.

Countdown to the Show

What they're saying about us

  • I travel nearly 600 miles from the north of Scotland to be part of such a friendly atmosphere. Tendring is a Show like no other. There are no empire builders, everyone pulls together to make it a really great occasion. I hope to be able to make it for many years yet, well done everyone.

    Brian Brinded, The Rabbit Whisperer
  • I always look forward to the Tendring show for no matter what your interests you will find something for you and as far as the Colchester Vintage Club is concerned it is the only event in the year that we attend as a static Show.

    P. Pearson, Colchester Vintage Motor Club
  • It was a splendidly organised event. Thank you. So nice to see a proper Farmers Show.

    Clare Dobie, Equestrian Exhibitor
  • I have been exhibiting rabbit netting and ferrets at agricultural shows for longer than I care to remember. Now, at 69 years of age, there are only two shows I will do, and Tendring Hundred is one of them!

    Brian Brinded, The Rabbit Whisperer
  • I would like to thank you for a most enjoyable day on Saturday, it seemed like the traditional weather for the Show returned to normality thank goodness, I hope it all worked out with a good attendance etc.

Mr Tony Irwin, Chairman NES Signs
  • Just to say well done to you and your team – excellent Show. Thank you for letting us extend our PR around the goat show – think the organisers like the extra people and upbeat day’s experience around them!

    David Boyden, Boydens
  • Tendring Show is a fun and friendly local agricultural and family show ran by local groups and organisations for mainly local people and those people who would like to travel to see such a unique yearly event. We love the show as it is a relaxing day to meet up with a lot of people you know.

Anne Hutchby, Sid Hutchby & Sons Ltd
  • We have been supporting the Tendring Show for over 50 years and see it as our main shop window to  promote both the NFU and the NFU Mutual locally.

    Philip Breary, NFU Mutual, Colchester
  • The East Anglian Jack Russell Club and racing team are pleased to be associated with the Tendring Hundreds Show once again this year. We look forward to our day at the show meeting people on our stand and entertaining with our terrier racing in the countryside arena.

Lilian Clark, East Anglian Jack Russell Club
  • The day at Tendring Show simply is not long enough to see all the different attractions that this Show offers
